On behalf of the FFNM Organising Committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 5th Fragility Fracture Network of Malaysia & 1st MyBONe Annual Scientific Meeting 2026, taking place on 22^nd–23^rd August 2026 at M World Hotel, Petaling Jaya.

This year’s theme, “BEYOND THE FRAGILITY: Optimizing Bone Health, Healing, and Recovery,” reflects our shared commitment to moving beyond the moment of fracture towards a more comprehensive, patient-centred approach — strengthening prevention, optimising acute management, enhancing rehabilitation, and supporting long-term bone health and functional recovery.

As the burden of falls and fragility fractures continues to rise, collaboration across disciplines has never been more essential. This meeting is designed to bring together orthopaedics, geriatrics, rehabilitation, primary care, nursing, physiotherapy, pharmacy, dietetics, and other allied health teams, alongside researchers and partners who share the same mission.

We have curated a scientific programme that combines evidence-based updates with practical insights, case-based discussions, and opportunities to exchange experiences on building effective, sustainable post-fracture care pathways.

Equally important, FFNM x MyBONe ASM 2026 serves as a platform to foster partnerships — across hospitals, community settings, academia, and industry — to translate innovation into real-world impact.

On behalf of the Malaysian Bone Health Optimization Network (MyBONe), it is my great honour and privilege to welcome you to this historic conjoint meeting — the 5th Fragility Fracture Network (FFN) Malaysia Meeting and the 1st Malaysian Bone Health Optimization Network (MyBONe) Conjoint Meeting.

This gathering represents more than a conference. It marks a significant milestone in Malaysia’s journey toward transforming bone health care — from reactive fracture management to proactive, comprehensive bone health optimization.

The theme of this year’s meeting, “Beyond Fragility: Optimizing Bone Health, Healing and Recovery,” reflects an important paradigm shift. Fragility fractures are not isolated events; they are sentinel events. They signal underlying skeletal fragility, systemic vulnerability, and opportunities for intervention.

Today, with the establishment of the Malaysian Bone Health Optimization Network, we aim to further expand this mission — integrating prevention, early diagnosis, perioperative bone health optimization, rehabilitation, and long-term recovery into a unified continuum of care.

This conjoint meeting symbolizes synergy. It brings together orthopaedic surgeons, geriatricians, endocrinologists, physicians, rehabilitation specialists, nurses, allied health professionals, policymakers, and industry leaders.

Together, we share a common responsibility: to reduce the burden of osteoporosis and fragility fractures in Malaysia and the region.

I encourage all of you to actively engage in discussions, challenge assumptions, share experiences from your institutions, and build collaborations that extend beyond this meeting.

Together, we can move beyond fragility — toward resilience, recovery, and restoration of function and quality of life for our patients.
